Solid & Hazardous Waste

Solid waste means all putrescible and non-putrescible solid and semisolid wastes including, but not limited to, garbage, rubbish, ashes, industrial wastes, swill, sewage sludge, demolition and construction wastes, abandoned vehicles or parts thereof, contaminated soils and contaminated dredged material, and recyclable materials or as defined in WAC 173-350-021. 

  

Dangerous wastes means those solid wastes designated in WAC 173-303-070 through 173-303-100 as dangerous, or extremely hazardous or mixed waste.  

  

Household hazardous waste means any waste that exhibits any of the properties of dangerous waste but is exempt from regulation under Chapter 70A.300 RCW  Hazardous waste management, solely because the waste is generated by households. Household hazardous waste can also include other solid waste identified in the local hazardous waste management plan prepared pursuant to Chapter 70A.300 RCW, Hazardous waste management.
