Mark has served as Clallam County’s Prosecuting Attorney since 2014. Prior to being elected, he served as Clallam County’s Hearing Examiner, spent over a decade working in prosecution, and served as a federally commissioned US Park Ranger.
Mark is active in public speaking, criminal justice education and community outreach. He routinely presents ethics before the Washington Association of Prosecuting Attorneys, is a certified instructor with the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission, and is a regular presenter before local service clubs, chambers of commerce, and Neighborhood Watch programs across the county.
Mark has served on the executive committee for the Washington Association of Prosecuting Attorneys and was a gubernatorial appointee to the Washington State Forensic Investigations Council, which he chaired for years by nomination and vote of his peers.
Mark was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington and his law degree from Seattle University School of Law.
Outside of work, Mark belongs to the Nor’Wester Rotary Club. In his spare time, Mark enjoys hiking in the Olympics, fishing for salmon and steelhead in the west end rivers, working on landscaping projects and spending time with family.
