Dungeness Trails County Park

Dungeness Trails County Park is a new 395.5-acre park with a multi-use non-motorized trail network of between 10 and 15 miles. Dungeness Trails County Park is partially developed for use by mountain bikers, walkers, runners, hikers, and horseback riders. lt was obtained from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in 2024 with funding provided by a Washington State Department of Ecology Stream Restoration Program Grant.

While approximately 300 acres will remain available for selected recreation and conservation purposes, roughly 100 acres are tentatively designated for the development of an off-channel reservoir to store water during winter and spring, when flows are plentiful, and save this water for later in the year when river flows are low, that will provide opportunities for aquifer recharge and ensure the sustainability of agriculture in the Dungeness Valley - all providing climate resiliency for people, farms, and fish. https.//www.clallamcountywa.gov/188/Dungeness-Off-Channel-Reservoir-Project

Both the additional park and the off-channel reservoir developments are ongoing and are several years from completion; however due to the continued efforts of volunteer groups, the park is available to the public.
