Please join us Tuesday, October 29th to learn about the Elwha River Watershed Channel Migration Zone (CMZ) and to share your shoreline history and local knowledge about flooding and erosion. Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 from 4-6PM at Elwha Klallam Heritage Center (401 E Frist Street, Port Angeles). Clallam County along with consultants Natural Systems Design + Coastal Geologic Services are undertaking a CMZ study in lower Elwha River, Indian Creek, and Little River. CMZs are intended to provide private landowners and local agencies with valuable information about flood and erosion hazards. The delineation also provides information regarding fluvial processes, slope stability and aquatic and riparian habitat. There will be a short presentation from our consultants and maps where participants can add their local knowledge.
